Unconditional Love: is selfless, enduring, forgiving, and has no restrictions

The Bible teaches us that God loves us all unconditionally. He loved himself less so that he could love us more - he gave up his only begotten son for us. This unwavering commitment of Divine love is offered to everyone and anyone willing to accept it. While we cannot match God's unconditional love, we are called to unconditionally love all people and all things in our lives, being selfless, enduring, and forgiving love towards others – reflecting God's own loving nature.

God Said: “He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me” Matthew 10:37

"If anyone comes to Me and does not *hate his father and mother... he cannot be My disciple." Luke 14:26

*Hate in Hebrew means loving something less.

God doesn’t want us to hate our parents, hate here refers to choosing him over your parents – loving them less than we love Him.

We know he doesn’t want us to hate them because the fifth commandment says,

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you” Exodus 20:12

Can you love yourself less to love someone more?

Giving unconditional love doesn’t mean sacrificing yourself or who you are or bending over backwards for others. God offers it everyone who is willing, with selflessness, He forgives without restriction to all those willing to accept his unconditional love; He doesn’t force it on people who don’t want it.

We are asked to do the same, love all people unconditional. Not all will be willing to accept it, and we will not force them. You will know the ones that accept your unconditional love, they are one’s that know you are worth loving themself a little less to accept your unconditional love.

·       Are you able to love yourself less to love someone else more?

·       Are you able to choose them over something/someone else?

·       Do you offer unconditional love to all people and all things in your life.

·       What does loving unconditionally mean to you?

“I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32
