Judging Others
Form, give, have an opinion, or make a decision about someone, often negatively, based on their actions, looks, clothes, where they live, lifestyle, character, beliefs, or what others say about them
We have all done or been in this situation at some point in our lives, formed an opinion about someone without even knowing them or the truth. How do we really know someone or someone’s truth if we aren’t willing to know or find out the truth?
How can we honestly form an opinion by clothing, housing, hairstyles, looks, weight, colour of skin, relatives, friends, vehicle, education, job/career, gossip…the list goes on to how opinions are formed about others.
Just because someone has money, this doesn’t mean that they have it all; just like someone who doesn’t have money – they could have a lot of things in common. We don’t know if we aren’t willing to find out. Don’t judge what you don’t honestly know.
Can you honestly say what a person is all about just from a look? I have heard people say that they can tell who that person is just by looking at them??? Or how about this one – first impressions??? How do you know what that person went through before they met you that day??? Or maybe they are shy or don’t have great communication skills – should you judge them without really knowing them?
Matthew 7:1-5. 1Judge not, that ye be not judged.2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
The next time you see or meet someone for the first time, remember you don’t know what is truly in their heart.
I wish you an amazing week filled with love, happiness, prosperity, kindness, and positivity.
With Gratitude,
Minister Leona Jo
