What If...? Part 2

Updated: Jan 27

You tried to be positive?

Positivity & Gratitude
Positivity & Gratitude

This week we are going to look at the what if’s mentioned last week.

Let’s look at the lists we wrote about last week…all the things that bother us and why they bother us.

How did it make you feel when you reviewed your list?

How did it make you feel when you turned your list around in a more positive manner?

Did you feel any sense of relief?

If you had trouble doing this exercise, don’t worry, we have all experienced difficulty with change at some point. The key is to keep trying.

“You must be the change you want to see in your life”

Mahatma Gandhi.

Here are some examples that we can use a guideline, if we need help turning our list around:

  • Are you the giver that always helps everyone, even when you don’t really feel like it or have the time. “I must help everyone else; I don’t have time for myself.”

  • It’s okay to say “NO”! It’s okay to think of yourself first! Instead of always thinking and feeling like you must be the giver no matter what; try changing your thoughts to: “I am grateful that I take time for me; and I help others when I am able.”

" Better is one handful with quietness, than both the hands full with toil and displeasure of spirit."  Ecclesiastes 4:6

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or empty pride, but in humility consider others more important than yourselves". Philippians 2:3

  • Do you envy others? I am sure we have all been here at some point – wishing we had the luck, job, money, car, house, fame… that someone else has. “I wish I had the house, the vehicle, and the money they have.” Instead of envying others (creating lack) we should be grateful for what we have and ask for prosperity for them and ourselves by affirming daily:. “I give thanks that everything and everybody prospers me now and I prosper everything and everyone now.”

"For where envying and strife is, there is confusion, disharmony, and every evil work."

James 3:16

(Feel free to elaborate on these and write what you will take time for, what your career plans are, what/who you appreciate and what you will receive.)

Did you fill your mind with more positive and happy thoughts to think about throughout your day? Did you create or say the morning prayer to start your day?

Sometimes we need help creating positive and happy thoughts…

  • each evening or morning write down 5 or more things you love about yourself, something, someone, or something you would like to have that makes you happy…

  • or form pictures in our mind of things that make you happy and think of those when negative thoughts appear.

Pick one or a combination (there is no wrong way, we need to do what works best for us) to apply for the day. When negative thoughts appear repeat or picture what you picked for that day and repeat or picture it until the negativity is gone.

Did you wake up and decide that it was going to be a wonderful day? Did you only think of positive and happy thoughts all day! Was your day perfect! Did you acquire new knowledge from this experience...Did you use it to your benefit? Will you continue to use it?

Are you ready to be successful; are you ready to take charge of your life?

What if we took responsibility for our actions?  What if we quit making up excuses and blaming?  What if we took 100% responsibility for everything that has occurred in our life…

Freedom Comes from within, not without...Life was meant to be abundant...in all areas

I wish you a wonderful week filled with love, happiness, prosperity, kindness, and positivity.

With Gratitude,

Minister Leona Jo
